Free Electrical Panel Inspection With Any Paid Service

Kevin Smith, Master Electrician · Acoustic Electric, LLC

Your electrical panel is the heart of your home’s electrical system. Every light, outlet, and appliance depends on it, yet most homeowners never give it a second look until something goes wrong. At Acoustic Electric, we want to change that. For a limited time, we’re including a free electrical panel inspection with any paid service.

Whether we’re installing a ceiling fan, adding an outlet, or troubleshooting a breaker that keeps tripping, we’ll take a few extra minutes to open your panel and give it a thorough, professional once-over at no extra charge.

What We Look For

Our inspection focuses on two things: safety issues and code violations. Some of the most common problems we find include:

Many of these issues can’t be seen from the outside. A panel can look perfectly fine with the door closed and still have problems that put your home and family at risk.

Selling Your Home? Your Panel Matters

If you’re planning to sell, your electrical panel will get attention. Home inspectors routinely open the panel, and problems found there are some of the most common items flagged in an inspection report. A double-tapped breaker, an outdated panel, or evidence of overheating can spook buyers, give them leverage to renegotiate, or even stall a closing while repairs are sorted out.

Getting ahead of it pays off. A clean, properly labeled, code-compliant panel tells buyers the home has been cared for and removes one more obstacle between you and the closing table.

The Code Changes Every Three Years

The National Electrical Code (NEC) is updated every three years, and each edition brings new safety requirements. Over the past several cycles, those changes have included expanded requirements for AFCI and GFCI protection, whole-home surge protection for new and upgraded services, and outdoor emergency disconnects for residential services.

A home that was fully up to code when it was built may not meet today’s standards. In most cases, existing installations aren’t required to be brought up to the newest code unless work is being done, but the changes exist for good reason. They reflect lessons learned about fires, shocks, and equipment failures. Our inspection will let you know where your system stands compared to current requirements, so you can decide what upgrades make sense for your home and your budget.
